Today in jewelry marketplace the gem-quality synthetic diamonds are more available than ever before. Identification of their origin (natural or synthetic) and treatment (improvement of their color and clarity) directly affects diamonds value and are of primary importance for jewelers.
As part of ongoing research program on synthetic diamonds, GIA has set up a CVD growth facility where GIA will be able to produce its own synthetic diamonds for study.
Presentation about properties of natural and synthetic diamonds, methods and equipment for their identification and GIA’s CVD diamond growth facility was held at the leading jewelry industry’s premiere trade show 2016 JCK in Las Vegas.
